A bit of laughter in each day

The lifting and healing power of laughter is well-known. In these pandemic times, it can hard to find things to laugh at though. Even things that should be humourous often aren’t. For example, I don’t find so-called comedy programmes funny, they try too hard and ruin the humour.

I miss being in a group of my friends or colleagues where things get so silly that we are laughing until I have tears running down my face! The challenge for me, working from home and being the only adult in the house, is finding things to make me smile and laugh at daily without the humour of others.

This week, I have made myself laugh whenever cleaning my teeth. I bought some natural tooth cleaning powder that has charcoal in it. It is hard not to laugh when you look at yourself in the mirror with a black tongue and teeth!

My other humourous moments have come from watching Tiptap our rescue pigeon; she does some very funny things. Like when she gets excited and slips off her perch, then gets up and nonchalently walks off as if to say, “Nothing to see here!”

What makes you laugh?
